Continental Little League (CLL) offers the local youth a structured baseball and softball program within the guidelines of Little League International. Players from ages 4-14 are eligible to participate in a community and recreational focused atmosphere.
Beginning in 2015, Continental Little League is introducing the Youth Umpire Program. This program will supplement the existing Adult Volunteer Umpire Program to ensure all Continental games are outfitted with trained and qualified umpires. In order for the program to be successfully, we need responsible youths who are interested in giving back to the community (or those who just want to earn some extra cash!).
The Youth Umpire Program flyer has information about the program, most importantly the training clinic, which is scheduled for this Saturday March 7th from 2pm - 5pm at Ygnacio Valley Elementary. Please send this flyer along to any youths you think would be interested. If we do not get enough qualified youths to attend the training clinic, we may need to limit the program to certain divisions or defer the program until next season.
Below are links to parent forms for the upcoming 2015 season. Medical Release Forms are returned to your manager. Volunteer forms, along with a copy of your driver’s license, are returned to our Safety Officer, Dave Garrigan (email@example.com).
There will be several umpire mechanics clinics to help get us started and to help brush off the dust and get ready for the 2015 season. New and returning adult umpires are required to attend both the Mechanics and Rules clinic.
On behalf of the Continental Little League Board of Directors and the approximately 350 children who play in our baseball and softball leagues, we would like to thank all those families who took the time to complete our 2014 Parent Survey. We are very proud to report that we had 74 responses representing approximately 27% of our registered families. A much better response than any of us ever envisioned.
The results of this survey provided us with outstanding feedback, including over 30 pages of comments, constructive feedback, and areas for improvement. Although we would all like to be able to tackle every suggested area for improvement, we also understand that trying to do so is simply not realistic.
The attached Executive Summary document summaries the top improvement areas that were identified in the survey. The Board of Directors also created and approved an action plan to address each of these improvement areas. Over the course of the next several months, the Board will execute upon each of the items identified within the action plan, with anticipation it will result in a stronger league for the kids, parents and community as a whole.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Continental Board of Directors
Coaching kids is a rewarding experience and a way to give back to your community. We have parents and non-parents who find coaching so rewarding that they come back to coach year after year. When you are selected to coach and you have a kid playing in the League, you are guaranteed to have your kid on your team. We are looking for coaches and assistant coaches who think they would like to volunteer and make a difference in kids' lives.
Continental Little League places great emphasis on our coaching ranks, recognizing that without their exceptional efforts our league would not be what it is today. We provide plenty of support for our coaches including: training, team equipment and uniforms, and provide a coaches' manual all so they are well equipped to provide the kids on their team the best experience.
Both new coaching prospects and returning coaches (welcome back!) must complete this application to be considered for the upcoming season. Please click on the link below to start the registration process.
