Youth Umpire Program

We are excited to announce changes to the CLL Umpire Program, including the introduction of the Youth Umpire Program.

For the 2015 season, there are 3 main changes to the umpire program, impacting these divisions: Baseball Majors, AAA, and AA:

1. Youth Umpire Program: Trained youths ages 12 - 20 will have the opportunity umpire games within CLL.  This program will supplement (not replace) the existing Adult Volunteer Umpire Program.

2. Game Coordinator Position: A new adult volunteer position that is required if two youths are umpiring a game.

3. Umpire Scheduling:  The league will be using a centralized, online umpire scheduling tool to ensure all games are outfitted with umpires.  This application is called Dibs.

Please review the Umpire Program FAQ as it contains all the details of the changes (this document is also attached).

As this is the first year of the Youth Umpire program, we ask for your patience as this system develops and matures.

Little League Day at the A's

The A’s are excited to announce their Little League & Youth Baseball/Softball game for the upcoming 2015 season!

The date is: Sunday, May 17 vs. Chicago White Sox.  I'm coordinating our league's presence at the event this year and would like to know who's interested. Depending on the turnout, we will receive a discount and acknowledgement at the game.

For those that haven't been to the event in the past, it's pretty cool. All of the players wear their uniforms and get to walk on the field prior to the game... The A's usually give the players a gift as well, something like an autographed picture.

If you are interested in attending, please let me know by March 21st.  My e-mail address is stevejoeharris@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Steve Harris
