Player Agent’s duties include registering players, setting up tryouts for player candidates, conducting the drafts, acting as intermediary when trades are undertaken, observing managers and coaches in their handling of children, maintaining a list of players throughout the season, and conducting All-Star player voting.  The role of the Player Agent is second only to the President of the league.

Also, VP’s will:

  • Promote awareness of softball at schools within league boundaries (via clinics, flyer distribution, banners, etc.)
  • Attend District 4 Softball meeting (usually in January) to meet other league officials, exchange contact info (likelihood that inter-league format will continue)

  • Ensure availability as contact point to the board for any team managers or parents with issues outside those falling within the scope of Player Agent.
  • Attend monthly board meetings and manager meetings, and participate in major CLL & WCLL functions including on-site registration, try-outs, opening day ceremonies, etc.

Uniform Coordinator (WCLL - 10 volunteer points)

Arrange for the purchase of all softball uniforms. Coordinate with managers and uniform vendor to order and print all uniforms for all teams. Regular season job is generally in Feb & March.  Post season job is in June.

Evaluate your field’s needs, and inform the board of directors of the needs at your field, and the approximate funds needed to accomplish improvements.   Run Field Clean-up Day at your field to accomplish the needed improvements.  Perform an instructional clinic for parents (perhaps on the same day as Field Clean-Up) on how to set-up and clean-up your field, and inform them where supplies are to do set-up and clean-up.  During the season, visit the field (hopefully once a week) to ensure that supplies are available and in good working order.  Inform parents if set-up or clean-up tasks are not being performed.

Team Managers (WCLL - 10 volunteer points)

Attend tryouts to evaluate all players.  Attend coaches clinics.  Select your team at Draft Night.  Attend monthly manager meetings.
